Donation, Contribution & Sponsorship Policy

Purpose of this Policy
The Wolf Creek Cherokee Tribe Inc. relies on financial contributions to sustain cultural preservation, educational outreach, community engagement, and heritage programming throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
This policy outlines the required donations for Tribal programs and services, guidelines for general contributions, and the expectations for annual sponsorships and partnerships

Required Donations
All educational and cultural offerings require a confirmed donation. These donations support the time, preparation, cultural knowledge, travel, and participation of Tribal members. Programs that require a donation include, but are not limited to:
Educational presentations, Cultural demonstrations Drum, dance, and song. Traditional arts and lifeways instruction, Community events and outreach. Public speaking and cultural consulting
Programs will not be scheduled until the donation arrangement is confirmed.

Donation Confirmation & Payment Requirements
To reserve a date for any program or service:
The required donation must be confirmed at the time of scheduling.
Donations may be paid in advance or immediately upon completion of the program.
Donations must be made by the requesting organization, school, agency, business, or event coordinator—not through individual attendees.
If a donation cannot be confirmed, the Tribe cannot hold or reserve a date.

Scheduling, Cancellations & Changes
If a scheduled program must be cancelled:
The Tribe requests notice as early as possible.
Programs may be rescheduled based on availability.
Rescheduled dates require reconfirmation of the donation arrangement.

General Contributions & Museum Support
The Tribe welcomes year-round contributions that support:
Museum preservation
Cultural artifacts and exhibit care
Youth education and cultural learning
Grounds upkeep and facility maintenance
Tribal operations that sustain cultural heritage
Virtual Museum contributions are separate from program donations and may be made at any time.
Organizations or individuals wishing to support the museum specifically may do so using the designated Museum Contribution Form.

Sponsorships & Community Partnerships
Businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, government agencies, and community partners may support the Tribe through:
Annual sponsorships
Cultural preservation funding
Youth education support
Event or program sponsorship
General operational contributions
Sponsorship contributions may be acknowledged on the Tribe’s Partnership & Sponsorship Recognition Page upon request.

Donation Receipts
All donors will receive a digital receipt, via email address submitted, reflecting:
Contribution amount
Date received
Purpose of the donation
Digital receipt may be used for tax, audit, or organizational recordkeeping purposes.
