Overview
The Wolf Creek Cherokee Tribe, Inc. established its Museum and Tribal Center in 2015 as part of its commitment to preserving, interpreting, and sharing Cherokee history and culture. Since its founding, the Museum has served as a place of learning, reflection, and community engagement, supporting the Tribe’s broader cultural, educational, and preservation efforts throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The Museum reflects the Tribe’s ongoing responsibility to protect cultural knowledge, honor ancestral history, and provide meaningful educational opportunities for the public. Exhibits, programs, and guided experiences are designed to present Cherokee history as a living presence, grounded in respect, accuracy, and cultural integrity.
Public Access & Hours
The Museum is open to the public on:
Saturdays | 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
General museum admission requires a donation of $5.00 per person to support ongoing operations, preservation efforts, and educational programming. Children age 10 and under are admitted free of charge.
Admission contributions support the maintenance of exhibits, facilities, and cultural resources.
Guided Tours & Educational Visits
In addition to general visitation, the Tribe offers guided tours and educational museum experiences by request. Guided tours provide deeper cultural and historical context and are led with care and intention.
Guided tours and organized group visits require a donation-based request and must be scheduled in advance through the Museum Request & Inquiry Form. Required donation levels for guided experiences help support staffing, preparation, and responsible interpretation.
